This is one of those pieces in which the artwork itself is a spoiler. Sorry about that, but I had to make this creepy pig-faced nurse for the cool kids who already know. The symbolic color here is green for envy, also associated with greed. "Eye of the Beholder" is a classic example of how people (or even non-people, apparently) in communities always try to fit in, try to be like each other, and feel the need to fall in line mindlessly, sometimes going to extremes to do so. Rod Serling holds up a big mirror to our society to reveal our very own sheep-like nature in another brilliant Twilight Zone episode that is utterly timeless.

Sometimes you just have to go with an iconic element of your design. The Eye symbol has long held the imaginations of mystics, Egyptians, and Goths alike.

I stumbled upon this drawing I did a long time ago, from the show The Twilight Zone and thought it might make a good t-shirt. lol :)

Not everyone finds insects attractive but one cannot help but admire this beautiful demoiselle... It is the male with such brightly metallic blue colouration. Looking more carefully at the subject in question, I noticed a thin line through the veining structure of one side of its wings... I understand that scientists - 'all in the name of so called ~ science' are tagging species of interest and of concern and I even watched and filmed researchers tagging sharks in the gulf of mexico after the oil spill disaster - so I do understand this invasive methodology. And after studying at Cranfield University ~ where at the time detailed research was first being conducted on nano-tubules and the starting blocks of nanotechnology... it...

The Twilight Zone is my favorite show of all time, despite it having concluded long before I was born. Rod Serling is a hero of mine - a perfect wordsmith and creator of truly fascinating studies of the human psyche, tales that due to stellar writing, directing, and acting, feel almost more real than most TV today, despite the outlandish sci-fi scenarios. For this, I chose 4 of my favorite episodes that could be instantly recognizable with floating heads, and I used color symbolically. For the background color gradients, I created a subtle "Z" shape as a nod to the show. I also developed a new shape-drawing technique to create the faces piece by piece. It is a very tedious process, but rewarding, as it is an original look!
