This design was inspired by the legends of the werewolf, a widespread concept in European folklore.

Belief in the loup-garou (a variety of werewolf present in Canada, the Upper and Lower Peninsulas of Michigan, and upstate New York) originates from French folklore influenced by Native American stories of the Wendigo.

The rougarou, a werewolf creature of Cajun folklore, emerges from behind a cypress tree. This American cryptid wades through waters and under Spanish moss in the swamps of Louisiana. 3D Rendering.
