Garden Grove is a suburban city in North Orange County. It's home to Little Seoul, part of Little Saigon, and Little Arabia. While out walking the more touristy areas of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) I came across this shop selling what looked like knock-off shoes. My image can't match the scale of the range of shoes available. They came in every shade and style imaginable.

If you ever visit Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), you should visit the central post office. The building is a remnant of the French colonial days; a remarkable piece of architecture constructed in the late 1800s. This is an image that captures some of the detail of the wall and high curved ceiling in the main hall in the building. The hall speaks eloquently of its European heritage, but at the far end is a giant portrait of Ho Chi Minh to remind you where you are. What I love about this image is architectural grace it has captured and the wonderful colours. That colour scheme is continued on the outside of the building.

One of the things to do when visiting Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) is to visit the French-colonial central post office. Built in the late 1800s, it is a truly wonderful building. This image shows the upper reaches of the main business hall, with its arched roof and skylights supported by slender pillars, all painted in shades of green, yellow and orange. At the far end is a portrait of Ho Chi Minh, an ever-present force in Vietnam's mid-twentieth past. I love this image for its portrayal of the symmetry of structure and the wonderful colour scheme.

This image is the view along Nguyen Hue Street in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) up towards the People's Committee building at the far end. The street has a wide promenade along the middle, wide enough for a park with fountains and statuary. I'm sure the street was laid out during French colonial days. The view along the promenade is stunning at night.
