Squirrels are members of the family Sciuridae, a family that includes small or medium-size rodents. The squirrel family includes tree squirrels, ground squirrels, chipmunks, marmots (including woodchucks), flying squirrels, and prairie dogs amongst other rodents. Squirrels are indigenous to the Americas, Eurasia, and Africa, and were introduced by humans to Australia.The earliest known squirrels date from the Eocene period and are most closely related to the mountain beaver and to the dormouse among other living rodent families.

The past few weeks, I’ve been watching the grey squirrels in the trees behind our house foraging for food to hibernate over winter. I’ve always liked squirrels so I wanted to produce a new art piece of one to go along with my other wildlife paintings. I’ve tried attracting them to our feeder in the garden, but the pigeons seem to be taking over.

Canon Rebel T3i Sciurus carolinensis, common name eastern gray squirrel or grey squirrel depending on region, is a tree squirrel in the genus Sciurus. It is native to eastern North America, where it is the biggest and ecologically essential natural forest regenerator. Gray squirrels have predominantly gray fur over the top of their bodies and white or light gray fur on their bellies. Adults weigh up to 1-1/4 pounds and they are 18 to 20 inches long. Their most distinctive physical characteristic is their bushy tail, which also is a handy tool that can be used for balance, a sun shade, an umbrella, a blanket and a rudder when swimming. They have four front teeth that, like other rodents, are ever-growing, and that they wear down by co...

We get a lot of squirrels where I live and after a marathon of watching these movies, a flash of inspiration came to me watching one of these guys parkour it’s way around the trees outside. I thought it would combine quite nicely for a funny and cute t-shirt design that I as a nerdy fan would love.
