This photography is another beautiful piece of art within itself from Priscilla Balderas of Lovepris.com; I’m such a huge fan of her stunning work. Katy is a beautiful young lady who’s featured in this and not only is she ethereal and elegant, but a jaw-dropping beauty. This reminded me so much of my Scottish roots and my Scottish family ties, hence the title. It’s amazing how the mountains of Colorado, my home state, brought this idea to me. I just fell in love with the photo. “Bruadarach” is a Scottish Gaelic word meaning “dreamer” or “visionary”.

Dunvegan Castle is located 22 miles west of Portree on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Dunvegan Castle is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and has been the stronghold of the Chiefs of MacLeod for nearly 800 years. Built on a rock, it has survived clan battles, the extremes of feast and famine and the profound social, political and economic changes through which the Western Highlands and Islands have passed. Inside there are family portraits galore with antique furniture, books, trophies and weapons. Showcases containing alsorts of medals and relics display such intriguing items as a lock of Bonnie Prince Charlie's hair and a pin cushion embroidered by Flora MacDonald. Also on display is the famous Fairy Flag.

This is the old graveyard and church in Stirling, right beside the famous castle. This would be such a perfect location to visit on Halloween!

The famous Fairy Pools of the Isle of Skye. While going in the morning wasn't the best for light, it was certainly the best time of day to go if you want to beat the crowds. We were some of the first people there and it was great to be able to see it without a rush of people around us. After all, that's how the fairies would have liked it!
