Second Valley is a peaceful seaside town situated on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia. I captured the reference photo for the Second Valley watercolour painting while standing on the path above the rocks facing the jetty. This painting highlights the pastel colours in the the water created by the rocks and seaweed and displays the unique character of the location where I spent many childhood holidays.

The painting was created from a reference photo taken while staying in Second Valley on a family holiday. It is one of my favourite places to visit in South Australia as it is very peaceful and has not changed much since I had family holidays there as a child. My family and I caught many fish and squid off the jetty, found many crabs and periwinkles among the rocks and chased fish when snorkling in the water.
