The sleuth of Baker Street is timeless. It has been over 100 years since the first story featuring Holmes was published in 1887's A Study in Scarlet. The character and stories have had a profound and lasting effect on mystery writing and popular culture as a whole. We love to revisit the old stories just as much (if not more) than we like coming up with new stories. We love translating Sherlock Holmes into every medium we’ve had in that span theater, radio, movies, TV, comics, everything. Holmes has been at home on television since 1950. As television has changed, we have come up with a Holmes for that era. It’s hard to count just how many adaptations of Sherlock Holmes there have been because of so many have used elements of the detective.

The Sherlock Holmes And The Spider Woman Design is inspired by the 1943 mystery film starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Doctor Watson. The seventh in a series of Universal Holmes movies featuring Rathbone and Bruce, Sherlock Holmes And The Spider Woman features elements from numerous original Conan Doyle stories including The Sign Of The Four, The Final Problem and The Adventure of the Devil's Foot, but with the setting updated to the then present day rather than the original Victorian setting.

The Hound of the Baskervilles is the third of the four crime novels written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle featuring the detective Sherlock Holmes. It is set largely on Dartmoor in Devon in England's West Country and tells the story of an attempted murder inspired by the legend of a fearsome, diabolical hound of supernatural origin. Sherlock Holmes and his companion Dr. Watson arrive at Baskerville Hall to investigate the case.

Sidney Edward Paget (4 October 1860 – 28 January 1908) was a British illustrator of the Victorian era, best known for his illustrations that accompanied Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories in The Strand Magazine. When Sir Arthur Conan Doyle revived the Sherlock Holmes series with The Hound of the Baskervilles, serializedVictorian era in The Strand in 1901–02, he specifically requested that Paget be the illustrator.

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes is a collection of twelve short stories by Arthur Conan Doyle, featuring his fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. It was first published on 14 October 1892; the individual stories had been serialized in The Strand Magazine between July 1891 and June 1892.
