Castlerigg is perhaps the most atmospheric and dramatically sited of all British stone circles, with panoramic views and the mountains of Helvellyn and High Seat as a backdrop. It is also among the earliest British circles, raised in about 3000 BC during the Neolithic period.

Keswick, Cumbria, UK Keswick is an English market town and a civil parish in the Allerdale borough of Cumbria, England. Historically it was in Cumberland, and since 1974 has been in Cumbria. It lies within the Lake District National Park, Keswick is just north of Derwentwater and is four miles (six kilometres) from Bassenthwaite Lake. It had a population of 5,243 at the 2011 census. The stream flowing under Ashness Bridge near Derwentwater is known as Barrow Beck which flows down from Bleaberry Fell.. The building in the picture is Bark House, originally built to store oak bark from the nearby woods for processing in Keswick.

Derwentwater, 3 miles long,1 mile wide and 72 feet deep is fed by the River Derwent which rises high in Borrowdale and subsequently flows into Bassenthwaite and on to the Irish Sea at Workington. Being so close to the market town of Kewich here, it is sometimes unsurprisingly known as 'Keswick's Lake'.
