Description: A vintage postage stamp tribute to Steve Biko, founder of South Africa's Black Consciousness Movement and one of the most important voices in the anti-apartheid struggle. This design uses a bold halftone portrait style, the South African flag as a symbolic mantle, and authentic stamp detailing — perforated edges and a guilloché wave background — to turn Biko's legacy into wearable, collectible art. Biko's philosophy of Black Consciousness taught that "the most potent weapon in the hands of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed" — a call to psychological liberation that helped ignite the Soweto Uprising and reshaped Black identity across the African diaspora. Description: Steve Biko — the Father of Black Consciousness — rendered as a bold vintage propaganda art print in the spirit of revolutionary poster movements. This striking portrait composition features Biko framed by protea flowers, African map silhouette, raised fists of resistance, and broken chains: symbols of psychological liberation, Black pride, and the enduring legacy of South Africa's anti-apartheid struggle. Biko founded the Black Consciousness Movement in the late 1960s, challenging a generation of Black South Africans to reclaim their dignity and identity. His philosophy — that the most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed — remains as urgent today as it was in 1977.
