The first flush of dasies lead to the making of a daisy chain. Magpie Springs is a rustic farm very close to the McLaren Vale in the Adelaide Hills Wine Region. The property has some of the oldest vines in the Southern Adelaide Hills. Our vineyard, homestead, art gallery and cellar door in the centre of the Fleurieu Peninsula is nestled back from B34, the main road from Hahndorf to Willunga Hill. We are half way from Adelaide to Victor Harbor. Our vines, organically grown since 2013 have been under a restoration process and are now producing premium fruit. 5 different winemakers purchase our fruit. We have our own brand, but our wines are very boutique only sold onsite. We grow Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Chardonnay, Pinot N...

Several wild kangaroos live onsite at Magpie Springs. A family of them graze in the grass just outside of my studio daily when no one is about. They are shy and bound off when visitors come. Saturday and Sunday when the Art Gallery and Cellar Door is open. Magpie Springs is a vineyard in South Australia. Beautiful Hahndorf in Autumn is quite a sight. Hahndorf is a quaint little German style town in the hills of Adelaide, South Australia with cute shops to browse and traditional German food to savour.

After winter pruning commences in the vineyard. We prune by hand. The vines in their growing season send out long tendrils. The barrel pruner goes through first to take these off and make the hand pruning more manageable the vines accessible. Its a big job to prune the vineyard. There is a scientific method so growth the following spring will produce the best producing vines.
