A colorful Wood duck is perched serenely on the dark shoreline, with its vivid reflection visible in the calm water. Surrounded by a few scattered leaves and rocks, the bird and its reflection are highlighted by a beam of light that seems to isolate them from the darker surroundings.

This is a watercolour painting of boats at the lovely little coastal village of Pittenweem. It's situated up the East Coast of Scotland just south of St. Andrews.

We thought we'd missed sunset as we drove out to Patricia Lake from Jasper to scout out possible places to watch the northern lights. Luckily, we were very wrong!

Here you see the remains of a wave that just hit the dark looking sand, reflections of orange sunlight in the water as the sun slowly goes down at Prestwick Beach, Scotland - quite meditative.

The sun sets over the harbour at Akaroa on the Banks Peninsula. I seem to have been very lucky with sunsets there -- and the gorgeous setting definitely doesn't hurt either!

Glowing reflections on a rainy Autumn evening

Deri Park (Parc Cwm Darran), a peaceful country park tucked away from it all in the Daran Valley, two miles north of Bargoed, in south Wales.

Pastel on Art Spectrum plein air board - 30 x 40 cm This painting was started during a recent paint out at Sunnyvale Rd, Kew on a jetty over the Camden Haven River. I primed the white pastel board with a watercolour wash, then blocked in most of the painting. As with most plein air paintings, a breeze came up & rippled the water, the sun was in & out behind the clouds - so much was changing all the time! San Francisco as it began to light up for the night. The city lights lit up the lingering clouds much better than the sunset ever could!

Trinity Reflections On Hancock Tower 200 Clarendon Boston Massachusetts by Debra Martz Across the street from the Trinity Church is the 200 Clarendon building but still known and referred to locally as the Hancock Tower. The church reflects beautifully on the building's blue glass windows. The Seafarers Bridge is a footbridge over the Yarra River between Docklands and South Wharf in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The bridge connects the north and south banks of the river while providing a formal entrance to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The bridge main span is supported by steel ties connected to elliptical arches, with three arches on the north side and four arches on the south side. The bridge was named in homage to the ‘Mission to Seafarers’ centre located nearby on the northern bank of the Yarra River and to represent Melbourne’s rich maritime history.

The Millenium Bridge, Newcastle, the bridge links Newcastle’s thriving north bank with the Gateshead Quays arts and cultural quarter. The bridge is essentially two graceful curves, one forming the deck and the other supporting it, spanning between two islands running parallel to the quaysides.
