Reflections Magnets

While I was shooting these two Egrets landing on the lake at Peck Road Park, in Arcadia, CA, I didn't realize what I'd captured. Of the 16 images I shot of this sequence, I like the symmetry of the birds, and their reflections, captured here.

A beautiful Mandarin Duck (Aix galericulata) resting on the clear blue waters of the River Wansbeck in Northumberland. This is a fairly rare occurrence so presumably the Mandarin was resting on its way further north to the nature reserves at Druridge Bay about ten miles or so away.

This image is of the Duoro River as it flows through Porto, Portugal. It was a wonderful, warm evening. The illuminated buildings and streetlights along the river made it such a lovely scene.

Reflections seen in the modern buildings of the city. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, South America. (Featured in Reflections in Building Windows.) There are two towers in this construction site standing opposite the Cathedral. One of the criteria for the buildings was that the Cathedral should be reflected in their glass facades.

The Costa Calma, located in the southern end of Fuerteventura has expanses of sandy beaches and is famous for wind and kite surfing. Close to the Melia Gorriones hotel, the coast and hills (that look like huge sand dunes) allow for some colourful and scenic sunsets and sunrises.

I usually don't like taking photos in the rain, but these beautiful hanging flowers caught my attention and were absolutely worth the soaking wet clothes!
