Tel Aviv Magnets
Description: Israel photo taken October 17, 1940. Female volunteers taking a bus driver course in Tel Aviv to relieve the shortage of male drivers serving in World War II. Double decker bus, circa 1937, by British Leyland Motors Ltd. Black and white photo taken by Zoltan Kluger, public domain, via Wikimedia Commons. Colorized.
Description: An ink art Tel Aviv illustration featuring a woman riding a bicycle along the famous beach boulevard, the Tayelet, on the Mediterranean coast, surrounded by palm trees, Bauhaus architecture, and the relaxed energy of Israel's White City. Blue-and-black ink sketch styling gives this Tel Aviv travel design the feel of a vintage European fashion illustration and an artist's travel journal. A distinctive souvenir for anyone who loves Tel Aviv, Israeli architecture, Mediterranean beaches, cycling, and the city's laid-back urban lifestyle.
Description: A circular emblem-style graphic featuring the Tel Aviv skyline with skyscrapers and older buildings. A sun rises over the sea behind clouds, with text above reading 'TEL AVIV' and below reading 'The City of Memories' in script. All elements are in a monochrome blue tone on a black background.
Description: “Finest Confectionery Beit-Lehem.” (Hebrew.) Circa 1935. Poster published by Beit Lehem Bakery, LTD, Tel Aviv, Israel. Designed by Shalom Aharoni. Public domain, via PPPA. The poster is a commercial advertising lithograph for the ‘Bethlehem’ confectionary, referring to a shop where sweets are made or sold. Lithography by Monzon, Jerusalem. Shalom Aharoni, born in 1908 in Rehovot, Israel, was a professional sculptor. He sculpted in stone, clay, and marble. This is Shalom Aharoni’s single recorded commercial poster. Using a variety of graphic design tools, I created a restored and enlarged reproduction of this historical Israeli poster, based on a rare photo of the original poster in an archive.
