Trompe Loeil Mugs

Description: The technique of Trompe-l'œil, translates to "deceives the eye", creates 3D looking paintings on a 2D surface, thus fooling the eye. Inspired by this idea I wanted to create a design that speaks to the state of our nation and comment on how many millions of Americans have been lied to and deceived. I modernized it by creating the text as anaglyphic 3D. When the reader looks past the surface they'll see the true meaning by discovering the words, "Trump Lied". By combining these two statements it not only offers an interesting sounding pairing but also a double meaning as well.
