Trompe Loeil Tapestries

The technique of Trompe-l'œil, translates to "deceives the eye", creates 3D looking paintings on a 2D surface, thus fooling the eye. Inspired by this idea I wanted to create a design that speaks to the state of our nation and comment on how many millions of Americans have been lied to and deceived. I modernized it by creating the text as anaglyphic 3D. When the reader looks past the surface they'll see the true meaning by discovering the words, "Trump Lied". By combining these two statements it not only offers an interesting sounding pairing but also a double meaning as well.

A witty and charming watercolour hand painted design emulating knitting - from a tad of a distance it looks like the real thing - but it's printed!

The real beauty of this design is that if it's on a mask, the print doesn't look right unless you wear the damn thing over your nose like God and Dr. Fauci intended.

I had to look twice when I discovered this window in Bern, Switzerland. It was bitter cold, nearly snowing, and there was suddenly this wonderful sea view in front of me. The painter did a great job, one could easily have been fooled.

Walking through the street s of Bath in Somerset, UK, I looked up a building and found this most unusual window painting showing a gentleman reading in his living room full of books. I had to look twice before I realized it was a painting and not a real window.
