Trompe Loeil Phone Cases - iPhone and Android

The technique of Trompe-l'œil, translates to "deceives the eye", creates 3D looking paintings on a 2D surface, thus fooling the eye. Inspired by this idea I wanted to create a design that speaks to the state of our nation and comment on how many millions of Americans have been lied to and deceived. I modernized it by creating the text as anaglyphic 3D. When the reader looks past the surface they'll see the true meaning by discovering the words, "Trump Lied". By combining these two statements it not only offers an interesting sounding pairing but also a double meaning as well.

Walking through the street s of Bath in Somerset, UK, I looked up a building and found this most unusual window painting showing a gentleman reading in his living room full of books. I had to look twice before I realized it was a painting and not a real window.

I had to look twice when I discovered this window in Bern, Switzerland. It was bitter cold, nearly snowing, and there was suddenly this wonderful sea view in front of me. The painter did a great job, one could easily have been fooled.

A 3D steam punk inspired mechanical heart, with a trompe l'oeil effect (fool the eye) to give the illusion of a glass window in your chest showing the heart.

Steampunk, a form of Science Fiction where power is derived from steam and used in what would be considered today unconventional technologies. Usually the steampunk art style is heavy in innate metalwork, such as Victorian florishes, and incorporates copper and brass as the main building material.
