Lincoln Cathedral Under The Arch Lincoln Cathedral. Lincoln Minster or the Cathedral Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Lincoln, and sometimes St. Mary's Cathedral in Lincoln, England is the seat of the Anglican Bishop of Lincoln. Building commenced in 1072 and continued in several phases throughout the medieval period. It has been a long time since there was no scaffolding around some part of this amazing structure. Because of this, I just had to get a photograph and post it here for posterity and to give you the chance to have a photo of this historic landmark as it was meant to be seen. Tenby Sailing Club And Boats This stunning Town on the South West coast of Wales is the most colourful place I have seen, outside of Cuba. In fact there are many similarities to Cuba, the people are so nice and greeting, the colorful houses (although in better condition than Havana) are synonymous with Cuba. The sailing club sat on the harbour quay seems out of place in this scene with it looking so drab compared to the town houses above. This photograph is perfect for a puzzle or print. River Kent, Kendal, Cumbria, UK The River Kent is a short river in the county of Cumbria in England. It originates in hills surrounding Kentmere, and flows for around 20 miles (32 km) into the north of Morecambe Bay. The upper reaches and the western bank of the estuary are located within the boundaries of the Lake District National Park. The river flows in a generally north to south direction, passing through Kentmere, Staveley, Burneside, Kendal and Sedgwick. Near Sedgwick, the river passes through a rock gorge which produces a number of low waterfalls. This section is popular with kayakers as it offers high quality whitewater for several days after rain. Derwentwater Tree Roots Derwentwater, or Derwent Water, is one of the principal bodies of water in the Lake District National Park in north west England. It lies wholly within the Borough of Allerdale, in the county of Cumbria. The lake occupies part of Borrowdale and lies immediately south of the town of Keswick. Storm brewing Over Pink Heather On The Yorkshire Moors It takes a special kind of plant to thrive in moorland areas, where the weather is often cold, wet and windy. Heather – an evergreen shrub with twiggy stems – covers our open moorland. Usually lots of heather plants grow together, forming a thick, bushy carpet, sometimes up to half a metre tall. This helps the plant to survive strong winds. Heather also has tiny, narrow leaves shaped like the needles on a Christmas tree, which stop the plant from losing too much water as the winds blow across the moors. RAF Stenigot Tower, Sunset RAF Stenigot is a former Second World War radar station situated at Stenigot, near Donington on Bain, Lincolnshire. Standing like a sentry, the mast in front of us keeps its silent watch over the Lincolnshire Wolds. There are plenty of masts across Britain today, many were built recently to provide mobile phone signals. But this one dates back to the Second World War. Many of these hastily-built structures have since been lost, together with the stories that they told. So the mast at Stenigot is a remarkable survivor. The Lippo Centre, Hong Kong The Lippo Centre, Hong Kong, is a landmark development located in the heart of Admiralty comprising approximately 1.3 million sq.ft. in two office towers with a retail podium element situated on the ground floors and a small basement car park. I don't normally do architectural photography but these buildings struck a chord with me. The locals say that the buildings are designed to look like panda bears hugging each other. We were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful this market town is, especially down by the river Nidd and it's imposing viaduct. Knaresborough is a market and spa town and civil parish in the Borough of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England, on the River Nidd 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Harrogate. Myrtos Beach, Kefalonia island, Greece Myrtos Beach is in the region of Pylaros, in the north-west of Kefalonia island, in the Ionian Sea of Greece. Myrtos beach lies between the feet of two mountains, Agia Dynati and Kalon Oros. Myrtos has been described as "one of the most dramatic beaches in Greece", with its "mile-and-a-half long arc of dazzling white pebbles." It was used as the location for the mine explosion episode in the film Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Pink Cadillac, Havana Taxi Ride The one thing you have to do when you visit Havana is to hire a Taxi driver to take you on a tour of the city in their clapped out Chevrolet convertible 1950's car. I took this shot from within the cab while our charismatic driver gave us a guided tour of stunning Cuba. I held my camera above my head and took a bit of a chance with the outcome but the depth in this photograph is perfect as it captures the inside of the car and the detail of the buildings and other cars in the scene.
