Description: We had been staying in Buxton, Derbyshire, primarily to spend some time in the Peak District National Park. However, we also knew of Buxton's history as a spa town, the Midland's answer to Bath, and couldn't help but notice some of the grand building around the town. Buxton was a destination town for those who wanted to take in the spa waters, but when not bathing, a grand opera house would be a fine addition, nay a cultural highlight, of such a visit. The opera house, according to Wikipedia, was built in 1903. What I love about the image, is the dynamic viewpoint I was able to obtain, where a wide angle let me capture the main elements of the building's facade. Anyway, I do hope you enjoy the image.
Description: In 1947 Portland, Maine, banker Andy Dufresne is convicted of murdering his wife and her lover and is sentenced to two consecutive life sentences at the Shawshank State Penitentiary.
