Congo River Socks
Description: Heart of Darkness is an 1899 novella by the novelist Joseph Conrad, in which sailor Charles Marlow tells the story of his assignment as steamer captain for a Belgian company in the African interior. In the story there are two main boats: the Nellie, a cruising yawl anchored on the Thames where Marlow narrates his tale, and the Roi des Belges ('King of the Belgians'), the steamboat Marlow captains up the Congo River. The story begins on the Nellie, but the journey into the "heart of darkness" takes place on the Roi des Belges.
