To a Jungle Cruise Skipper, there's nothing like the feeling when you step into a bote. (Sure, some people call it a boat, but we know how to spell it.) It's a magical feeling, where you feel utterly comfortable to be yourself, and you know that you belong. In other words... home.
Skippers like things. We really like things that have to do with being a Skipper. That's exactly what this shirt is about. There's no other meaning, no reference to any popular culture or TV show. It's just that we're Skippers, and we like our things.
The boats of the Jungle Cruise use a signalling system involving shots on their .38 special pistols. 3 shots means your boat cannot proceed, and serves as a warning to those before and after you.
Sometimes we have those moments in our lives. We can’t move forward or back. We’re stuck, where we are. The moments set in. The panic. The fear of being stuck in a boat (metaphorically) with 48 people staring at you for what seems like an hour. We all have felt the way we feel when a boat goes 3 Shot…
But just keep calm. Let everyone know what is going on. That you’re all right. And just Three Shot…

We "Heart" hippos. As Jungle Cruise Skippers, we work with Hippos on a daily basis, and what isn't to love about them? From the way they playfully blow bubbles and wiggle their ears, to the playful way they charge the boats, knocking them over and spilling the precious cargo and passengers to the depths of the river. Adorable! We even have to playfully shoot into the air to scare them away. So much fun!
The Jungle Traders are feared the world over. With their silver and black logo, their shaken spears and shrunken heads are synonyms for the rough and ready style of life that Jungle Skippers live. They are truly feared by all.
(Another wonderful shirt by the fantastic Skipper Richard Wallace. This one was a request by a few Skips, but I am so happy with how this turned out. Definitely a must for the California sports and Jungle fan in your life.)

I don't know about you, but the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland has always made me wonder... what do Hippos watch for Saturday Morning Cartoons? Wait, I'm the only one? Really? Well, enjoy this shirt anyway.
(Our artwork is art by Skippers, for Skippers, and this artwork by the magical Richard Wallace. Richard is also the artist for the King of the Skippers card game.)

Tangeroa Ru, Goddess of the East Wind, and her sister Hina Kaluua travel together, wind and rain. They journey across the 7 Seas, and the Tangeroa Ru' M is the home to the best imaginary tropical drinks that have ever been had at a non-existent bar ever.
This was a custom request for a Jungle Cruise Skip, and I thought it would be a good all around design.
Um, that's it... no big story or jokes on this design. I just liked how it looked. Enjoy.
We loved Disneyland's Jingle Cruise, for the 3 years it was with us, but for the last 2 years it has been gone and we wanted to put out a shirt to help get it back. So, if you loved Jingle, wear this shirt to show your solidarity for our hope for it's return...
The Jungle Cruise at Disneyland had this wonderful thing called the "Jingle Cruise" for 3 years, celebrating the holidays in the Jungle. But it's gone for the second year in a row, and we wanted to put out a couple of products in support of getting it to come back next year! We love ourselves some Jingle Cruise.

Jungle Cruise Skips can have a wide range of styles. But Sarcastic Skips always seem to stick in the minds of our guests. Sometimes it's hard not to slip into a darker mood, particularly when you have hours of glassy eyed tourists and international guests who don't get the jokes or the language. I *try* not to get bitter... but it happens
The African Veldt at the Jungle Cruise has all sorts of famous African animals on it. This Jungle Cruise joke is one of the more subtle jokes that's been around for more than a few decades, but I kept getting requests for it, so I figured I'd do a helvetica list for it.

These four guys have been headlining their own variety show for over 50 years! That's amazing longevity in the entertainment biz. Their voices seem familiar, and their profile is out of this world! So, sit back and enjoy the show...
Part of my new "Paintchips of Disneyland" series... Every week I'll pick a new attraction and find its color pallet and figure out paint chips for them. It's sort of a silly idea, but I've had people who really wanted something like this, so I thought I'd put something together...

What sort of engine goes into a boat that is worthy of exploring the vast and untamed wilds of the Lands of Adventure? Why, a Miracle Boat Engine Company engine, of course. Known for its reliability and worthiness to handle even the worst of jokes, the Miracle is an amazing engine.

Well... We love hippos over here at the Jungle Crews, and this design popped out of our heads like a hippo popping out of the water. It looks amazing on a bunch of different colors, and it's basically a CMYK registration error that just looked damn cool. Enjoy it!
There are many Jungle Cruise boats that are named after rivers. These are the main 6 that Jungle Skippers think of, and I wanted to make a shirt that gave a little bit of love to the fantastic boats and their rivers.
What's out in the Jungle? How do you explain the Jungle Cruise? Well, this shirt sort of sums it up. (Not really, but it sort of gets around the general idea)

There's a lot of myths out there in the world. Flat earthers, contrails, and that there were more than 3 Indiana Jones movies. This final one has never been proven, and there is no evidence to support it. Still, the Indiana Jones Trilogy are 3 of the best films in existence.

Sure, we all know that the State Animal of California is a bear. (Wait, you knew that, right?) But, what of the noble and majestic Hippopotamus? This gentle yet deadly creature sums up the true dichotomy that is California.
Plus, we all know that Hippos are only dangerous if they wiggle their ears and blow bubbles.

We all have dreams. Some dreams are seen as aspirational. Reaching for the future. Going for amazing adventures! Curing mysterious diseases and making the world a better place.
Or, you could tell bad jokes in a fake boat with fake animals 6 times an hour. That's a thing too.

At the World Famous Jungle Cruise in Anaheim, a series of gunshots fired indicate problems with the ride or boats. a "6 Shot" situation is the worst, meaning your boat has come off it's guide. From the dock, hearing 6 "bangs" is a rare occurrence, but standing there when you hear it is an unforgettable experience.
(This is a very specific and niche design, really just for Jungle Cruise Skippers from DIsneyland...)
People love the Country Bears. I mean, *really* love the Country Bears. They're one of those things that either were an indelible part of your childhood, or they were just something you had to do because your Dad was really into John Denver and Dolly Parton in the 70's and wanted to get out of the sun in the middle of the Florida afternoon. Still, who am I to not respect nostalgia, and do a list shirt for my friends who keep asking for it.

Everyone who goes to a theme park knows about this amazing frozen treat. Vegan, fat free, and tastes like pickles! Dill Whip fever has taken the country by storm, and when the chips are down, this is the bread and butter of many people's treats.

Skipper Richard Wallace is a friend and contributing artist for the Tales from the Jungle Crews. His illustrations were the core of “King of the Skippers”, our latest card game, and he continues to produce art for the podcast. This piece, “Skipperette”, was created for the KotS card game.
(As you may have noticed, much of our work revolves around Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise Skipper culture. We host a podcast devoted to the subject, and these items are independent homages to the Golden Era of Adventure that the stories from the ride take place in.)

Hippos... why did it have to be hippos?
In this piece by Richard Wallace, we have our hero, Skipper Gary London, escaping a wild herd of Hippos as he has disturbed the sanctity of a temple in the middle of the Jungle. All in a day's work at the office, right? (Art by the incredible Skipper Richard Wallace)

This is a reprint of a design we did for our 2016 Kickstarter campaign, and a few people have asked for it to be available again. Proudly proclaim that you are going to live life like it was a ride... a theme park ride... with fake animals. But one that you are going to conquer with style, panache, and a snappy hat.

We all have Parents. Well, that is the assumption. I mean, otherwise, how does that work?
Regardless of that, we know that the parents of Jungle Cruise Skippers are a special breed. They have to, well... put up with us. Put up with the jokes, the silliness, the horribly scheduled hours. But, still, at the end of the day, they are proud of us...
Somewhat.
