Archetypal T-Shirts
Description: This design is my artistic enhancement of a photograph of a relief that sits online in the public domain section of the Met Museum. Scholars are unsure as to the direct attribution but say she represents a goddess or queen in ancient Egypt around 400-200 B.C. The breast is pronounced so her nurturing role is probably important.
Ancient Egyptian Divine Feminine T-Shirt
by Medusa's Lair: Spirit, Symbol, and Shadow
$16 $24
Description: She can fit into places an ordinary Medusa cannot and she also has strong wings for flying. Whimsical, wise, and wild, this Medusa packs a one-two punch, every bit as powerful as any proper waywardmuse. Let her play and work for you. The results will be nothing less than extraordinary.
Description: It has been said that the vampire is the national bird of the unconscious. It was not Carl Jung who said this but the American poet Joan Sutton Landis, and then popularized by literary critic and scholar Nina Auerbach. I’m not sure I agree with it completely, but it is an intriguing idea. In this sense, the vampire represents hidden fears and desires, making it the ultimate, reigning symbol of that psychological underworld—always perched over our collective imagination, native to the human psyche, and universally recognized across cultures. That much could be true but does not at all paint the complete picture imho. (The artistic assets used to create this design were licensed to me by ThatsDesignArt.)
Description: In the Aztec pantheon, Coyolxauhqui (pronounced “Coyolshquee”), is the daughter of Coatlique. She and her brothers attempted to murder their mother who is the mother of all deities. Yet it turns out that Coyolxauhqui has a redeeming but complicated quality. While she may have been defeated and dismembered, her parts transformed into the phases of the enduring moon, providing light for those in darkness. According to Chicana feminist Gloria Anzaldua, this metamorphosis represents powerful healing and resilience. So Coyolxauhqui serves as a major symbol for survival and transformation.
