When you set thoughtful expectations for your personal relationships, they can more easily be mutually caring and supportive. And, having a conversation about your boundaries gives others opportunities to set their healthy boundaries with you. It can feel super uncomfortable at first, but as a practice I think it gets easier and more rewarding over time.
