An artistic view of a convenient bench on the Green next to the quayside at Bosham in West Sussex. Bosham (pronounced 'Bozzam' is a picturesque village within Chichester Harbour - a site of Special Scientific Interest. Holy Trinity church seen here dates from the late 800s. King Canute lived close by in the 1000s and it was here that he is said to have commanded thge sea to go back - and famously got his feet wet! Stour Valley Way: Christchurch Quay and Priory Number of views as of 9th July 2018 = 425. The town of Christchurch on the south coast of England dates from the 7th century AD. The town was originally called Twynham, but was renamed following the construction of the magnificent priory church in 1094. Formerly in Hampshire, Christchurch is now a Dorset town and has been since the re-organisation of local government and county boundaries in 1974. Date: 13th January 2013.

The Fish Quay at North Shields is a colourful place at most times of the day, but this image was captured at sunset on a November evening with a beautiful golden sky over the calm waters of the River Tyne.

The view looking upriver from Quay Street Bridge in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. This is the town where the River Severn joins with Shakespeare's Avon just a little further downstream. Just to the left of the poicture is the Severn-Avon Lock allowing boats to pass from one river to the other. Further upriver can be seen King John's Bridge, a Grade 2 listed structure - and apparently if a boat can pass through this then it can manage all other bridges as far as Stratford Upon Avon! A view of the Quai St Étienne, part of the Vieux Bassin at Honfleur on the Normandy coast of France. In the centre is the old church of St Étienne (St Stephen) which gives its name to the Quay. This is one of the oldest buildings in the town dating from the time when the medieval walls were built In 1432 it was enlarged by order of the Duke of Bedford during the English occupation of the region. Petty Harbour–Maddox Cove is one of many communities in small harbours along the Eastern coast of Newfoundland and Labrador. It's community of under 1,000 is mainly engaged in fishing off the coast and has existed for around 200 years. The colourful buildings bring a sense of joy to the place. The Fish Quay at North Shields is a colourful place at most times of the day, even at night when the day's work is done. This image was shot on a cold, bright December evening with the colourful boats nicely lit up under the flood lights and casting their reflections on the calm water.

Mevagissey, West Wharf, Cornwall, UK Mevagissey in summer is a place of dripping ice creams, sea breeze, little shop windows, crab lines and fish and chips. In Winter, it’s just as stunning and makes for a fresh and cosy get away. The main appeal is the working harbour nestled on an unspoilt coastline. A Break In The Weather As a fisherman, you do not want stormy weather out in your little boat battling the waves, so seeing the clouds clear often means a great days fishing ahead. These boats were bobbing about in Solva harbour, Wales, UK Solva is a harbour village on St Brides bay, Pembrokeshire. Nestled in the Pembrokeshire National Park, a few miles from St David’s, it boasts a bustling quay with plenty to do and a charming little village to wander around. Solva Harbour is a good example of a ria — a flooded coastal valley or inlet. Local rocks contain fossils from the Cambrian period, and the village gives its name to the Solva Group, a rock sequence. It began life as a fishing port in 1788, apparently based on designs by the noted engineer Thomas Telford. The quayside is busy with fishing and leisure boats and is also home to the Tobermory Distillery.
