Tattoo Phoenix T-Shirts
Description: In Japan, as earlier in China, the mythical Phoenix was adopted as a symbol of the imperial household, particularily the empress. This mythical bird represents fire, the sun, justice, obedience, fidelity, and the southern star constellations. According to legend (mostly from China), the Hō-ō appears very rarely, and only to mark the beginning of a new era -- the birth of a virtuous ruler, for example. In other traditions, the Hō-ō appears only in peaceful and prosperous times (nesting, it is said, in paulownia trees), and hides itself when there is trouble. As the herald of a new age, the Hō-ō decends from heaven to earth to do good deeds, and then it returns to its celestial abode to await a new era.

Description: This phoenix bird design illustrated the mythological bird that recycles its own life. When it perceives its impending death, the Phoenix ignites itself into a magnificent fire. In time, it reemerges from its own ashes - reborn, renewed, and very much alive. If you see yourself as someone who always strives to evolve and change for the better after every setback, then this golden Phoenix bird might have a great meaning for who you really are as a strong being who is always reborn from the ashes :)

Description: A vintage tattoo-style illustration featuring a flaming phoenix with spread wings centered between two crossed daggers. The design is framed by ornate gothic swirls, spiderwebs, and spiders, with banners reading "13" on either side and the text "Ed Hardy" in gothic script at the top.
Description: These fiery wings are part of a collaborative project. Due to some severe water damage on the original designs, I'm being allowed to reproduce and upload some of Evil H's tattoo art. I've had to simplify the coloring quite a bit because my medium doesn't translate gradients well, but the line art and overall coloration is as close as I can get it to the original work.
