Close up of an African Zebra taken at Buenos Aires Zoo. Probably one of the most interactive and best kept zoos I have ever visited. Animals are looked after quite well, and are being raised in captivity to save them from extinction. The zoo allows a percentage of their profits for conservation of the Argentinian wildlife. While I'm not sure I agree with animals being caged for any reason, it is nice to know that this zoo is here for many reasons, including conservation. Here's a red crowned kinglet tangled in a tea bag

Drawn in 2b pencil at Napier University in 2008 in a building that no longer exists. A former Library at the old campus building in Sighthill Edinburgh was used as the Art studio. Open roof windows meant the great space had plenty of natural light and I undertook this drawing in two afternoons of a Rubber plant partly starved of water! I have added digital colour to the pencil and as the original is A2 in size I scanned in sections resulting in a fair bit of banding! I've left the banding in because I didn't want to alter the pencil shading. The result is a rough approximation of the original, hope you like!!

I made this gem while I was studying for an exam in my ornithology course when I was studying for my bachelors in conservation biology. Use this to educate yourself or other people- or just buy it because it's neat!
