I managed to get a good balance of 'image background blur' creating that 'element of motion' along with the eagle's flight movements by 'panning the camera' and awaiting to depress the shutter as the eagles wings moved into full extension.

With fluffy white feathers almost as white as clouds ~ I decided to give this image a name which might be given to an "american indian" squaw. Derogatory attitudes of the past toward American Indian women have meant that, in modern American English, the word cannot be used in any sense without being offensive. Hopefully the word squaw ~ can again be used as a term of endearment towards american indian women. We as humans have much to learn...

An immature 'striated heron' sits patiently awaiting that most magical 'twilight time' for fishing, whilst the hustle and bustle of the boats 'to and fro' the water village continue...

Found this most difficult to align within the 'rule of thirds'. Movement to the right meant that the shot became obscured by the surrounding casuarina trees ~ any more movement to the left would mean that the natural shadow from the tree would move onto this beautiful bee eaters head ~ shadowing his face... This was the best I could do given circumstance ~ but it doesn't quite 'obey the general' rule! Still the splash of casuarina 'delineates' away from this somewhat.

WIth so many 'egrets' within the Nation of Brunei Darussalam, you'd have thought that this bird would bore the pants off most photographer's... yet most often, egrets seem to 'hold the allure' of most as they are just so marvellous to make images of. I've been searching to find a flight pattern that I was happy with and found what I was looking for within the inner reaches of the Brunei countryside, atop of the Labi hillside range ~ at a lake called "Luagan Lalak" Been spending quite some time there over the past few months. A place where surprisingly, I find inner peace. This piece is called "Air Land Transport" as frequently I wonder *where will we be ~ if they keep taking the birds ~ that are so vital for our survival (?)* ...

Maybe you had a parrot once, or a parakeet..? Rest assured that your precious Moe, Sunny or Charlie... or whatever name you chose to give 'him or her'... has a LIVE, HEALTHY and FREE SPIRIT roaming deep within the Bornean Jungle..! Most admittedly, finding a "Jungle Buddy" like BUDDY here, is increasingly less common ~ as many of the native residents with wings are being taken to prop up the pet trade... So if you've lost your budgie, parrot or parakeet, take 'pride in knowing' ~ by not choosing to replace him or her, you are doing us all a favour and keep those 'memories strong' in knowing that somewhere out there ~ their soul continues to fly, free and in the Wild... ;-)

This little eastern crimson sunbird, has been teasing me for weeks around the neighbourhood, finally after much time traipsing around listening to his whistles and following him from tree to tree to try and photograph... finally, finally, I find out where he resides to preen himself and at what time...! The best capture I could manage given the location, lighting and limit in technology. I've just sold my better camera and await the arrival of another... We all know a good workman ~ should never blame his tools, and in this instance the tech hasn't let me down as much as the sensor and limited focal length restricts. Still as an art photograph and of such a 'flighty little blighter' ~ I'm reasonably happy with the results..! :-) ...

This is the best image I could garner from extreme distance. This mature male "Rhinoceros Hornbill" sat on the very outskirts of the Jungle interior as I watched the sunrise...

Literally with less than 5 seconds to take this shot ~ it was a question of 'lightning fast reactions' and 'extreme telephoto ability' to be able to grab this image. Reeled off 4 images, after that "Woody the Woodpecker" had gone ~ vanished into the canopy... Decided rather than ditching the image, as for sure they weren't the best; that I'd work with the better image to try tease out, a *'real live' red-headed "Woody the Woodpecker" from the Jungles of Borneo ~ "what a character"!* Hope you like him! :D
