Description: Gunsmoke is an American radio and television Western drama series created by director Norman Macdonnell and writer John Meston. It centered on Dodge City, Kansas, in the 1870s, during the settlement of the American West. The central character is lawman Marshal Matt Dillon, played by William Conrad on radio and James Arness on television.
Description: Festus Haggen is one of the most iconic characters from the classic TV Western Gunsmoke, famously portrayed by actor and singer Ken Curtis. Introduced in the 1962 episode "Us Haggens", Festus initially arrived in Dodge City to avenge his twin brother's death. He eventually became Marshal Matt Dillon's fiercely loyal, permanent deputy marshal and the structural heart of the series from 1964 until its finale in 1975.
