Camera used: CANON EOS 450D The Grand Canal (Italian: Canal Grande, Venetian: Canałasso) is a canal in Venice, Italy. It forms one of the major water-traffic corridors in the city. Public transport is provided by water buses (Italian: vaporetti) and private water taxis, and many tourists explore the canal by gondola. At one end, the canal leads into the lagoon near the Santa Lucia railway station and the other end leads into Saint Mark Basin; in between, it makes a large reverse-S shape through the central districts (sestieri) of Venice. It is 3,800 m long, 30–90 m wide, with an average depth of five meters

Grand Union Canal, Brentford, August 2020 The Grand Union Canal is part of the British canal system. Its main line starts in London and ends in Birmingham, a total distance of 137 miles (220 km) with 166 locks. It also has arms to several places including Leicester, Slough, Aylesbury, Wendover and Northampton. The Grand Union Canal came into being on 1st January 1929, as a result of the amalgamation of several different canals, and at 286.3 miles (460.8 km), it is by far the longest (merged) canal in the UK.
