Description: The heat, the warmth, the humidity, trying to stay cool and yet maneuvering ways to enjoy the hot outdoors. That is how many of us, in reality, try to handle our everyday summers until the Fall Season.

Description: Shamata roughly translates to "peaceful abiding." It is one of the terms you learn when learning the meditation tradition based on the Shambhala Meditation path, which Chogyam Trungpa laid the groundwork for. For me, the path of Shambhala was intended to be part of a group to meditate and release stress back in 2012 simply. Instead, I went through a rabbit hole of richness and wisdom and unintentionally recreated my overall self, so much so that it seeped through my art for a while.

Description: The path of the artist is hardly ever a straight line. Not for me, at least. Throughout life, some doors were sealed shut, and others mysteriously opened when I thought there was no other way. My path as an artist is also a spiritual path as well.

Description: Prismacolor markers and Micron pen on cold press watercolor paper.

Description: Drawing created on watercolor paper.

Description: The photograph was taken with an old camera phone and edited with GIMP. This has always been one of my favorite camera pics. I was catching the transition of the previous evening to sunrise. I didn't have a car then and was lucky that work was close enough to walk to.

Description: Inspired by a song written by Tom Waits

Description: A fun painting. The Love Doctor will solve all our relationship problems and everything will be easy-peasy! lol

Description: This is a story about...well..anything the viewer chooses it to be. During my personal creative process, I've learned that mindlessly creating pen and ink pictures can invoke some exciting images with little effort. It's a pleasure to employ a sense of randomness for the viewer to use his/her imagination to what it may entail.

Description: Image created with gouache, watercolor, markers, pen ink, and white India ink

Description: Our minds conjure many exciting and dreadful ideas about ourselves and the world as soon as we develop consciousness. Every waking day of our existence, our minds are harmonizing and warring simultaneously with reality. As we age and mature, some ideas and fantasies become casualties of our mind war. Those cloud casualties may be a blessing in disguise. The evaporating thoughts are meant to cease somewhat so we can be more at peace with ourselves before exiting from this present world.

Description: Gouache and watercolors bleed and clash, but this is not a conflict. Lines and patterns create boundaries, sometimes overlap, but no territory can be claimed. The unconscious being manifested on paper to create some identity for itself, but it's non-existence and changes often like clouds that pass through the open sky. The “Builder” suggests a moment’s pause and enjoy what is right in front of you.

Description: We only have one life. Let us not take it for granted. Be gentle to yourself and be gentle to others.

Description: Image of the sun with a warm neutral background

Description: Being from Columbus, Ohio I wanted to create an abstract pattern that resembles the spirit of Ohio State University. The "Red and Gray" pattern can also resemble any sports team that use these particular colors illustrated

Description: What does your soul look like?

Description: Prismacolor markers and ink on paper

Description: The message is simple and the art speaks for itself.

Description: An image created for a jazz competition

Description: "Between You & Me" is a large abstract work on Stonehenge paper. This was one of the final works I created with wax pastels and took a break from art shortly(2010). Uploading the work, I must have really been trying to process ways to communicate better. Not only that, it felt(at that time) I was putting my trust into to wrong people. It is something that happens to all of us. It's how we learn, mature and learn to grow.

Description: Fun abstract painting

Description: Fun piece of art I completed, while I was participating in a pop-up exhibition.

Description: May your dreams help solve some of your biggest life problems.

Description: A simple and fun series using the front features of a skull. Incorporating patterns of colors and lines. Resulting in a unique work of art.

Description: It feels good to take a trip back to your creative rawness. A place where it doesn't matter is a piece of art may appear incomplete or lacks a meaning. An open space to express no regrets.

Description: I moved from Columbus, Ohio to St. Paul, Minnesota in April 2017. Since moving here I have noticed remembering some of my dreams are including animals. Crows were showing up in my dreams shortly after my grandfather passed away.

Description: Inspired by the book "Smile at Fear", written by Chogyam Trungpa

Description: Travon Martin tribute

Description: I made this piece when I first heard Lucky Peterson song 'Death Don't Have No Mercy on No One'. It was a strong and soulful song and I wanted to express some of the feelings of the song into the work itself.

Description: When I started attending a Shambhala Meditation Center and combining the practice with my art.

Description: Sleepless nights....oh sleepless nights.
