This is a fictional hand painted butterfly of my own design!
This is Specimen no. 178; a wing from the Imari Porcelain Butterfly located in the Arita area of Japan. It is said to collect its wing patterns from painted Kakiemon porcelain ware, therefore it is speculated that their wing patterns may vary greatly between individual butterflies.
