Buttons also has a philosophy about not killing people. He instead prefers to break his adversaries down, letting them live. Buttons is an extremely superstitious criminal, and he treasures his lucky penny, the first cent he ever stole. One day he lost his penny, and Big Boss gave him a fake, telling him that he found it. During a heist with Turbo Tu-Tone, Buttons learned the truth when he found that Longarm's son found it.

Description: Law's real name is Christopher M. Lavigne, and his rank is that of specialist E-4. He was born in Houston, Texas. Law's primary military specialty is Military Police, and his secondary military specialty is intelligence. He served in Houston's Fifth Ward a police officer for two years but wanted a more fulfilling way to serve, so he enlisted as an MP with his German shepherd, Order. Law is trained as a dog handler and possesses a natural affinity for animals, and he is additionally Airborne qualified.
Description: Tunnel Rat grew up in the mean streets of Brooklyn. His blood is a mixed bag, mainly Trinidad Chinese with mixes of Irish, Spanish and Indian. He was a tough little scrapper who put up with tough opponents. He is of the philosophy wherein that anything that does not kill you makes you stronger. He earned his code name by being the one to always volunteer for tunnel missions. Tunnels make for difficult fighting, there isn't much space to maneuver in, there could be traps and fighting situations can get claustrophobic. Tunnel Rat does not worry about fighting in tunnels, he has yet to meet anyone who could best him.
Description: BIG LOB has been a top athlete since elementary school and all through his high school days. He proved to have an uncanny ability to excel at any and all sports. Although he received offers from teams in several different pro sports leagues after graduation, he chose to enlist in the Army Reserves to serve his country but also remain close to his hometown and family. Rumors of his outstanding sports prowess and reports of his precise distance grenade throws quickly caught the attention of the G.I. Joe team. He joined under their "Rawhides" program, which allowed him the flexibility to report only for missions requiring his specialized expertise. He is well liked by his teammates except for his annoying habit of talking about himself.
