As an artist who likes to draw and paint spooky things, I've mostly stayed away from depicting other people's characters. Then in the summer of 2015 I had this idea to do a series of portraits of characters that I like from movies and books centered around Halloween, and by mid-October I had completed 5. Fast forward to the Spring of 2017 and we have Series 2, featuring all female characters. This is Rhonda from the movie Trick 'r Treat.

Autumn doesn't just happen. The Summoner must perform a complex series of incantations and rituals to turn the trees gold and blood red, frost the pumpkins and pave the way for All Hallows Eve.

My lovely wife came up with this concept and I ran with it! Inspired by the image of the Federal Eagle and a child who referred to a crow as a "Halloween eagle".

Created for the Flipside Alternative Arts Fest group art exhibit "FLIPSIDE presents PHOBIA". Artists were challenged to deliver a piece that dealt with "phobia", however they chose to interpret it. See if you can figure out how many phobias are represented!
