Do your best, but don't let perfection stop you from finishing
I'm a perfectionist from way back. I still try for perfect but I've learned to accept good as a fair compromise. And occasionally, when things just need to do the basics, I've learned to accept finished as a substitute for good.
Yours truly as Santa, with three ginger kittens. We actually found these kittens, which had been dumped in a national park, in late Nov. We saved them, fostered them, and thanks to the brilliant work of RSPCA, got them desexed, vaccinated, chipped, and then we looked after them for a few weeks until they found their forever homes. I wanted a picture of all three with me in my Santa gear to remember them and this was the result. The one on the right was my absolute favourite, but they were all lovely.
Did you think Batman or Batgirl just started doing flips on their own?
No way! They trained on the mats, beams, bars, and rings!
As always, let me know if you’d like a design with a custom colour. I went with this shade of blue because that’s the standard colour for where my daughter does gymnastics.
She’s training to be Batgirl!
One of the most beautiful spacecrafts in science fiction is The Liberator from Blake’s 7.
Made by The System and originally called Deep Space Vehicle 2, these are the main markings on the body of the ship. This is a clean version, without panels and other colours.
Since most folks think of the ship as white due to over-lighting, I have presented the markings here against a plain white background.
The Good Place holds a comedy roast, and on the podium is this shield. I’d translate “Irrisiones Infidelium Convivia – Eius Formido” here normally, but it’s kind of a mild spoiler for the second season.
I love the Space Invaders. Apart from the retro appeal, the designs of the creatures are iconic – you see that shape and you know just what it is.
I thought this might be a quick, fun little piece. Instead it took me days to get right and over 33 hours to render!
But you can have it with none of that trouble!

My attempt at the Command Crew Badge as worn by officers on the Planetary Union ship, The Orville.
With the background colour behind the badge, I did my best to match the colour of the command uniform.
In some areas of Australia, around Christmas time, these spiders start to appear like weird Chrissy ornaments. Apart from being small and pretty, they're a communal spider often found living around groups of their own species.
