Description: Originally a demo for an elementary school class for kids to discover and use texture in art this flower is created through crayon rubbings of different textured surfaces and then cut out into various flower parts and reassembled. The flower center has circles with dots in the middle and the petals are variegated , or striped. pretty decor for nursery of girls room
Description: Little Red Riding Hood carries her basket of goodies and a get well card on her way to visit her sick Granny. The big bad wolf stalks her in the background. Those who are from Oregon or the pacific Northwest will recognize and appreciate the native plants in the drawing, such as trilliums, oregon grapes, wood sorrel,and fiddle head ferns.
Description: Square shaped acrylic painting of a butterfly done in purple and green with yellow highlights. Digitally altered by layering another painting of white swirls, dots, and squiggles over the background. Then the image is turned into a beautiful repeating pattern where the swirls and squiggles form a damask like design. Makes a fun gift for kids or that special lady who is still young at heart.

Description: This cute, whimsical teal butterfly was made from crayon rubbings that were then cut out and glued together again in butterfly shape. Later this was cleaned up digitally and some of the lines refined. I did this as a demo for a 4th grade class i was invited to come teach as a volunteer. pretty decor for a nursery or girls room
Description: Low light photo using the night photography feature on my canon rebel t2i causes an ethereal light flare effect as the light escapes through the exit doorway of the gun emplacement. If you look closely on the left there is another metal ring on the wall next to a ladder. through the doorway there is a ladder that went down at one point, but the hole has been filled in. Part of this military installation have been in use since the civil war. As changes were made ober the years some things were outmoded and outdated but partially left in place as changes were made such as the ladder that now goes nowhere.
Description: View into the doorway of the tool room in Battery Mishler at Ft Stevens. The mottled concrete walls and dripping, rusty, stalactite-covered ceiling in the tunnel are illuminated by the glow of a bare light bulb over the entrance--enabling visitors to peer into the darkened gloom within and see a lantern well on the wall.
Description: I was in Vernonia at Christmastime and was entranced by this charming window display at the local flower shop. It was wonderful to see the mirrored pedestals once owned by my grandmother and my mother after her being used and loved and displayed so beautifully. The rain and forest relections on theglass created an otherworldly ethereal fairyland effect around the white horse and the little golden angel.
