Description: Artist's Description Started this chalkboard app drawing on my phone while I was sitting with mom at the hospital and she was sleeping. Added in the boat, birds and starfish to finish it up after she recently passed away. The starfish is a nod to my starfish lady, Susie Davis. When I was 4 our ward (ie. congregation) went on a trip to the beach. She found me in tears at the edge of the water over a starfish in the sand. When she asked me what was wrong, I replied, “it’s dying!” So she picked it up for me and threw it as far and as hard as she could back into the water. She used to remind me of the event fondly and call me her starfish girl. All Products Tags

Description: looking through the doorway of on of the old telephone rooms at Battery Mishler, Old Fort Stevens, near Hammond, Oregon, an upturned mason jar and a large tin can can be seen in the old lantern well. A metal ladder and a wooden stick from either a broom or a mop peek out from behind the entrance. Because of the fire several decades ago there was not anything else to be seen in the room besides some holes in the distressed concrete walls that used to lead telephone wires to one of those old switchboards that telephone operators used to plug things into to connect calls.

Description: It isn't a phone booth or a phone box. It's a telephone room from Battery Mishler which was once a harbor defense command post during World War II. the alcove where the phone once stood now stands empty as theconrete begins to crumble around it. the under ground lighting makes it appear white with blue tones and shadows.
Description: When my son and I took the underground tour of Battery Mishler, I took photos of lots of the old remnants for world war II equipment. It is all rusty and corroded with neglect, but still fascinating despite a fire that came through at one point and burned everything. This is the lower section of the power hoist, or what remains of it. As far as i can tell this is or was basically a big power box with wires running to and from it and probably had some switches or fuses in it at one point. All Products Tags

Description: As I was working on the composition and painting a symbolic meaning to everything came into play. The three sections of curtain across the window is a sort of representation of God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost--united yet separate and distinct at the same time as they are one. This is also a reference to the temple and going there for additional revelation, inspiration, peace and to be spiritual uplifted. The butterfly is a representation of being visited by the Holy Ghost, which was inspired by an article I read to my children many years ago in...

One arm is forward as if either in a teaching moment or to reach out to someone and lift them up... with my poem, Awakening Divine Self Worth, which is about changing from seeing yourself the way the world sees you to seeing yourself as of infinite worth as you develop the divine within you: One shaft of light Illuminates my mind, Streaming through one tiny crack Of this fortress mine.
