Description: Started this chalkboard app drawing on my phone while I was sitting with mom at the hospital and she was sleeping. Added in the boat, birds and starfish to finish it up after she recently passed away. The starfish is a nod to my starfish lady, Susie Davis. When I was 4 our ward (ie. congregation) went on a trip to the beach. She found me in tears at the edge of the water over a starfish in the sand. When she asked me what was wrong, I replied, "it's dying!" So she picked it up for me and threw it as far and as hard as she could back into the water. She used to remind me of the event fondly and call me her starfish girl.
Description: A little winter scene I sketched up on my phone's chalkboard app. A solitary figure hikes uphill through the night trailing a sled past snow covered evergreen trees. Off in the distance a cabin becons of love and warmth and home below the wintry moon as the snow flurries fall peacefully.
Description: looking through the doorway of on of the old telephone rooms at Battery Mishler, Old Fort Stevens, near Hammond, Oregon, an upturned mason jar and a large tin can can be seen in the old lantern well. A metal ladder and a wooden stick from either a broom or a mop peek out from behind the entrance. Because of the fire several decades ago there was not anything else to be seen in the room besides some holes in the distressed concrete walls that used to lead telephone wires to one of those old switchboards that telephone operators used to plug things into to connect calls.

Description: This Portrait sketch of Jesus shows him as if in mid smile. You can almost see him moving with sparkle and life. A look of happy kindness in one and sorrow and compassion in the other.. One arm is forward as if either in a teaching moment or to reach out to someone and lift them up... with my poem, Awakening Divine Self Worth, which is about changing from seeing yourself the way the world sees you to seeing yourself as of infinite worth as you develop the divine within you: One shaft of light Illuminates my mind, Streaming through one tiny crack Of this fortress mine. Amid the dank and darkened shadows, Through cobwebs aged with time, This light begins awakening An inner me, Divine. Basking in this warmth of light, A s...

The mottled concrete walls and dripping, rusty ceiling strung with old electrical wires in the tunnel are illuminated by a glowing light--enabling visitors to see a lantern well on the at the end of the corridor.
Description: hanging with ancient electrical wiring and Illuminated by a solitary bare light bulb, the leaky ceiling at Battery Mishler, old Fort Stevens, Oregon is covered in drops of constantly dripping water. Decades of constant drizzle have corroded the metal beams spanning one of Mishler's many corridors.
Description: On the way out of old fort Stevens, My son and I noticed some old brick foundations. Since I was driving I pulled over and had him hop out and snap some pictures. Description: Macro photograph of a green dragonfly. The sunlight glistening on it's wings makes the multifaceted surface appear to sparkle as a semitransparent frosty autumn maple leaf is overlaid across the wooden table the dragon fly is perched on for a bit of a timeless effect. Dragonflies are timeless images of beauty and yet their life is so fleeting. Life is eternal and beautiful and precious, and yet each moment is so fleeting and and quickly gone.
Description: It isn't a phone booth or a phone box. It's a telephone room from Battery Mishler which was once a harbor defense command post during World War II. the alcove where the phone once stood now stands empty as theconrete begins to crumble around it. the under ground lighting makes it appear white with blue tones and shadows.
Description: Digital art photo manipulation of a whimsical dragonfly on a nebulous pastel background. Letting go of the web of things that have held her back in the past this happy dragonfly enjoys the freedom of flitting among the glittering stars. Various shades of blue make up a border accented with elegant scroll work like the points on a map or compass as she charts her way towards achieving her goals and dreams.
Description: When my son and I took the underground tour of Battery Mishler, I took photos of lots of the old remnants for world war II equipment. It is all rusty and corroded with neglect, but still fascinating despite a fire that came through at one point and burned everything. This is the lower section of the power hoist, or what remains of it. As far as i can tell this is or was basically a big power box with wires running to and from it and probably had some switches or fuses in it at one point. All Products Tags
Description: Deep underground in Battery Mishler, Fort Stevens Oregon, behind the furnace, there is a little vent with grass roots coming from the surface, growing down from the vent and nearly touching the floor below. These grass roots grow deep. really deep, into what was at one time an underground harbor defense command post during World War II.low lighting and a long exposure time make the ball of grass roots near the vent appear like a glowing ball of fire in some sci-fi, dystopia of concrete and metal ruins.
Description: As I was working on the composition and painting a symbolic meaning to everything came into play. The three sections of curtain across the window is a sort of representation of God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost--united yet separate and distinct at the same time as they are one. Then there is the light coming through the curtain -which represents inspiration, revelation and those moments when we feel that heaven is near. Truly the veil is thin sometimes. This is also a reference to the temple and going there for additional revelation, inspiration, peace and to be spiritual uplifted. The butterfly is a representation of being visited by the Holy Ghost, which was inspired by an article I read to my children many years ago in...
Description: Delicate white "snow in summer" flowers blossom upwards towards the gauzy, soft, glowing spring sunlight. amongst the gold and bronze colored abstract textures in the background is the suggestion of a woman's face, like a wood nymph or a spirit, drinking in the smells and feelings of springtime at the changing of the seasons--representing the joy and contentment of spiritual renewal.
Description: Deep underground in Battery Mishler at fort Stevens Oregon are corridors and hallways to explore via an underground tour of what was a harbor defense command post during world War II, and a harbor entrance control post during World War I. It was in use as early as 1890 if I recall correctly. if you take the tour stay close to your guide because it is seriously dark in there and getting lost could be dangerous and spooky. Bring a good flashlight and non slip shoes. The floor is damp the ceilings are drippy with wetness, the beams are rusty and corroded, and the concrete walls are aged with time. It is like taking a walk through history, thinking about the soldiers who served their country over the past 2 centuries there and thinking abou...
