Description: Starting it's life as Déjà Vu at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois in 2001, this troubled roller coaster lasted just over six years before finding it's way to Silverwood Theme Park where it was reborn as Aftershock. The success of the coaster led to a revitalized interest in Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerangs and put Silverwood on the map as a destination for coaster enthusiasts and thrill seekers everywhere. Now you can have a piece of Aftershock at home or wherever you go with this photograph, snapped in 2009.
Description: Initially built for the Expo '74 World's Fair in Spokane, Washington, this cable and truss tent structure served as the cover for the United States Pavilion. Built to only last for the duration of the Fair, the tent has become the icon of Spokane's Riverfront Park, housing a raised platform walkway, grassy hills and an amphitheater, as well as offering nightly light shows by way of it's LED lighting package. Photo taken in January 2021.
Description: For decades after the Expo '74 World's Fair, the United States Pavilion's tent structure was used for various purposes. In the winter, it was used to house an ice rink. In the summer, it housed a somewhat sketchy collection of carnival rides. These were far from the vision of the Expo held in 1974, however luckily, the future of Riverfront Park was corrected in 2014, when Spokane citizens overwhelmingly approved a $64 million dollar bond to improve and redevelop the Park. This included a complete redo of the US Pavilion, taking place between 2018 and 2019, adding pedestrian observation platforms, an amphitheater setting, and new light show that can be seen starting at sunset. Description: This Custom Coasters International wooden coaster designed by Dennis McNulty thrilled guests at Waterville USA in Gulf Shores, Alabama from 1995 to 2018 before making it's last splash in September of that year. I had the opportunity to ride this fun CCI woodie in July of that year and walked away with this awesome picture of the coaster making some of it's test runs. Photo taken in 2018
Description: While most designs on TeePublic are meant to take pride in something, or to celebrate it. This photograph that I shot in 2018 of the Manhattan Express roller coaster in Las Vegas, while good, is more about making a statement. This design goes out to everyone who has ridden the Manhattan Express and walked away without a massive head injury, able to say "I survived that."
