Description: The alcoves along the walls of the Purana Qila citadel in Delhi, India, are popular trysting spots, perhaps helped by the fact that the citadel does not seem to be as crowded as many other places in the city. The Purana Qila is believed to have been built under Humayun and Sher Shah Suri (about 1533 onwards). Much earlier structures have, however, been discovered within the walls of the citadel by the Archeological Service, which occupies one of the rooms leading from an alcove such as these.
