Description: This beautiful rose "painting" was created from a photograph taken in my garden, then morphed into this image using several different software programs.

Description: Just for fun, I felt like playing with one of the most famous ladies in the world. I've softened the painting and turned it into something reminiscent of the hand-painted black and white photos that I remember from my childhood. I added a gleam in her eyes, a bit of eyeliner and shadow, some blush and lipstick (very subtle - she's a classy lady!)

Description: The king returns to his English castle from adventures abroad.

Description: A photo of part of the San Juan National Historic Site – The largest fortification built in the New World, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, digitally transformed into a beautiful "painting", in shades of gold and grey with undertones of pink.

Description: This man walking in wooden shoes, so traditionally Dutch, was photographed in Zaanse Schans in The Netherlands. I assume he was an interpreter in this historic village. From their website, "The Zaanse Schans is a residential area in which the 18th and 19th centuries are brought to life. Stroll past the bakery museum and enjoy the smell of fresh bread, or take a look at the warehouse where clogs are made. You should be sure not to miss the cheese factory, pewter foundry and the various windmills. The Zaanse Schans is a unique part of the Netherlands, full of wooden houses, mills, barns and workshops. Make a cycling or sailing trip, browse the shops or treat yourself at the pancake restaurant. A day out at the Zaanse Schans in North Holla...

Description: It was pouring rain the day I chose to visit a New Hampshire orchard and pumpkin patch. That didn't make the pumpkins any less bright.

Description: I photographed this building while walking along the boardwalk in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As far as I can tell, it's currently not in use, probably undergoing renovations. I believe it is, was, or will be a restaurant. I found the color, the windows, and the dock very picturesque coupled with the reflections in the rippling water.

Description: Beautiful red apples against glossy green leaves, found growing at an orchard in New Hampshire. Since this particular apple tree wasn't labeled, my best guess at the type is Jonamac, because of the nearly pure red color. Regardless of the type, there is no question that they are juicy and delicious.
