Description: Just for fun, I felt like playing with one of the most famous ladies in the world. I've softened the painting and turned it into something reminiscent of the hand-painted black and white photos that I remember from my childhood. I added a gleam in her eyes, a bit of eyeliner and shadow, some blush and lipstick (very subtle - she's a classy lady!)

Description: This man walking in wooden shoes, so traditionally Dutch, was photographed in Zaanse Schans in The Netherlands. I assume he was an interpreter in this historic village. You should be sure not to miss the cheese factory, pewter foundry and the various windmills. The Zaanse Schans is a unique part of the Netherlands, full of wooden houses, mills, barns and workshops. Make a cycling or sailing trip, browse the shops or treat yourself at the pancake restaurant. A day out at the Zaanse Schans in North Holla...

Description: I photographed this building while walking along the boardwalk in Halifax, Nova Scotia. As far as I can tell, it's currently not in use, probably undergoing renovations. I believe it is, was, or will be a restaurant. I found the color, the windows, and the dock very picturesque coupled with the reflections in the rippling water.

Description: Beautiful red apples against glossy green leaves, found growing at an orchard in New Hampshire. Since this particular apple tree wasn't labeled, my best guess at the type is Jonamac, because of the nearly pure red color. Regardless of the type, there is no question that they are juicy and delicious.

I added a light snow still falling for added interest (zoom in for detail). This is my first watercolor painting in decades (Yay! Proof that I can still hold a paintbrush!)
