Description: The Burmis Tree is a limber pine located in south western Alberta in the community of Burmis, Alberta, along the Crowsnest Highway (Highway 3) and east of municipality of Crowsnest Pass. The tree died in the late 1970s after losing its needles. Limber trees are known to survive harsh conditions and are one of the longest living trees in Alberta. The Burmis tree was estimated to be between 600 and 750 years old. In 1998, it was toppled by wind, however members of local community refused to leave it lying. The tree was stabilized by Alberta Culture, Historic Sites staff using stainless steel rods and brackets. In 2004, vandals cut one of the tree's main branches. Locals fixed it again with glue and a prop pole.
Description: From the beginning of the pandemic we were hit with so many images and messages. We saw corpses stacked up in reefer trucks, exhausted workers, rising death numbers, and on it went. There was so much fear and suffering for us to absorb. It was a crazy time and in many ways it still is, as our normal ways of living have become upended - changed forever.

Description: The Rocky Mountains that divide Alberta from British Columbia hold a special place in my heart. The Three sisters mountains in Kananaskis Country, Alberta is one of my favourite places. Those who have seen the view know this image well. Many hikes were happily spent under their gaze.

Description: Within all of us lies the feminine and the masculine, the creative and the intellectual. Our souls strive to have balance between the two sides but society tells us we must one be one or the other. This can lead to a break in us that cannot be fixed and we are torn apart, shattered into pieces and broken.
