Description: Gotokuji Temple, located in the Setagaya ward of Tokyo, Japan, is a Buddhist temple that is said to be the birthplace of the maneki-neko, or “luck-inviting cat figurine.” This version is different from a variety you may have seen, as the Gotokuji Temple specializes in the right-pawed version of this good-luck symbol and has purely white fur with no coin.
