Description: I have seen these pediment statues all over Europe, weathered by centuries and changed by the light of day until you can longer be certain if it is angel or devil, welcome or warning. I wanted to capture all the complications of light and tried to do so by relying on pure impressionism painting techniques....blobs of color only, no lines.
Description: The number twelve has a lot of potential meanings. It is the number of months in the year, thus representing a yearly cycle and its completion and wholeness, or the Zodiac. It is the number of disciples of Jesus, which makes it a common number in Christianity, and the original number of Hebrew tribes, which makes it a common number in Judaism. Across religions, it represents integrity and quality of divinity. This work represents a burst of insight.
