Description: The Space Tower on XE 5 had existed for millennia, providing Spacefarers with it's life giving liquid, but now, after years of neglect, entropy had set in. The Tower Keepers arrived to a typical high altitude XE 5 sunset. The mixed gases of the dense stratosphere created a vibrant kaleidoscope of colour, which touched the souls of all who visited this strange and far off world. I haven't done a Space Opera type image for a while, and the Xmas break allowed me time to indulge. This one started life as a small pencil sketch. I completed it over good few hours using Photoshop and a Wacom tablet.
Description: I decided to get in early with my Halloween entry this year. I drew the image in pencil and used the light box to transfer my sketch to Illustration Board. I drew over this with Copic Markers. I scanned the completed colour image and tweaked a few things in Photoshop. Hope you like my comical horror sketch. Bruhahahahah Bruahahahaha
Description: An update of older work -I needed to resize it for someone who possibly wants a bigger version. I was playing around with a sunset photo I had taken, when I got the idea for a planet similar to Earth, populated with humanoid type creatures who find something to grumble about regardless of the situation. Their conversation might go something like: I can't believe it Zhrikplatth, that's the third time this Dasnuba that the Skyhop has been late. Keep your veins in, Krryp, at least we can enjoy another methane sunset while we wait. I used Photoshop and a Wacom Tablet to paint this image.
Description: Tiger! Tiger! burning bright In the forest of the night, What immortal hand or eye Could frame thy fearful symmetry? In what distant deeps or skies burnt the fire of thine eyes? On what wings dare he aspire? What the hand dare seize the fire? And what shoulder, and what art, Could twist the sinews of thy heart? And when thy heart began to beat, What dread hand? and what dread feet? What the hammer? what the chain? In what furnace was thy brain? What the anvil? what dread grasp Dare its deadly terrors clasp? When the stars threw down their spears, Ans water´d heaven with their tears, Did he smile his work to see? Did he who made the Lamb make thee? Tiger! Tiger! burning bright In the forest of the ...
Description: Revenge is sweet. In "Planet of the Foxes" it is the humans who find themselves hunted for sport. "They are vermin, after all," joke the Fox Hunters, who sip cherry before they saddle up on iron steeds."Look what they did to the planet in the 21st Century. It's lucky any of us are here at all!" I started off playing with an idea for a Mech, then the fox concept emerged. A spin on the word, "Fox Hunter" Originally, I had conceived it as a cartoon, but then I got carried away and decided to try to make it work as a landscape painting, with cool dawn colours and a slash of light. I Painted it using Photoshop and a Wacom Intuos 4 graphics tablet.
Description: I grew up in the wilds of Rhodesia after my parents emigrated from England. We used to see these little guys in the bushveld around our boarding school. Some of the older boys even had them as pets. They could jump about 10 times their body length, if memory serves me correctly. I created this little character using Procreate on the iPad.
Description: ...even those from further afield. There I was, holidaying with family, when literally, out of the blue, this visitor temporarily obscured my view. Normally I would have deleted the pic, but I thought I should keep it, just in case some sceptics queried my story :) I did use a snap I had taken from Mt Tamborine, but the rest is what I would like to have seen :) I painted in layers overs my photo using textures from Warbot and my guitar to add interest. I also subtle symbols which I had loosely sketched from the Rendlesham Forest incident pics, in keeping with the comp theme.
