Tealuxe - Massachusetts / Rhode Island / New York Shorts

Description: Tealuxe was deemed "a tea bar & cafe". Initially opening on Brattle Street in Harvard Square (Cambridge) during 1996 (closed 2018), the copper & wood-clad location offered over 100 loose leaf teas sourced from around the world, as well as tasty food offerings such as pastries and sandwiches. Founders Bruce Fernie and Katherine Walsh were inspired by Mariage Freres, a chain of Parisian tea shops. Success yielded eventual expansion to Newbury St., Boston during 1999 (closed 2010), 2955 Broadway in New York during 2000, and Thayer St. in Providence, RI (closed 2019).
