The Swedish town of Gavle has a giant straw "yule goat," called the Gavlebocken, that is built every year, and every year we wait with anticipation to see if it burns down. Whether by accident or intention, it has been destroyed 38 times since 1966.

Its greasy, bald, thick, hide makes it impervious to most weapons, including axes and knives, but also makes it very flammable.

The burning beast then spreads through the underbrush, setting alight anything that touches his flesh. The Gumberoo has been blamed for many an Oregon forest fire.
