Description: Pelee Island sits in the western half of Lake Erie in Ontario, Canada. European settlement of the island began in 1788 when the land was leased to Thomas McKee by the Ojibwa and Odawa tribes. William McCormick purchased the island in 1823, and it was incorporated as an independent municipality in 1868. At 16 square miles, Pelee Island is the largest island in Lake Erie and also the southernmost populated point in Canada. According to the 2016 census, the island has a population of 235 permanent residents living in 90 households. Connected to the Canadian and United States mainland by ferry service, the population can swell to over 1,500 during the summer months, with more than three thousand people on long weekends.
Description: Britny Fox was an American glam metal band from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area that was active from 1985 to 1992. They are best known for their music video for "Girlschool" and their minor hit "Long Way to Love" (U.S. No. 100). Named after a track of the same name on their self-titled 1988 debut album, Rock Revolution was the name of the band's 1989 tour. Despite achieving moderate popularity on the tail end of glam metal as it was fading out, Britny Fox maintained a successful following that resulted in four studio albums.
Description: Arthur Hurand opened Dawn Donuts in Flint, Michigan back in 1958, the name a reference to when bakers had to get to work in order to have fresh donuts ready every morning. Hurand expanded cautiously, steadily growing to 60 locations throughout Michigan and several surrounding states by the mid '80s. Hurand sold Dawn Donuts to a national chain in the early '90s, a move that was heavily real estate driven. While company stores were rebranded, the eight independent franchise locations continued to operate as Dawn Donuts, with many closing up shop as the years wore on.
Description: The M911 C-HET is a heavy equipment transporter that begin production in 1977 as a more capable and lower cost alternative to the M746 HET. Based on the commercial F2365 truck, M911 C-HET was modified in a number of areas, including two winches added behind the cab, and a non-driven drop axle located in front of the two rear axles. The M911 was to be used with the M747 trailer that was developed in the HET-70 program, alongside the M746 tractor truck that the M911 supplants. This combination allowed for loads in excess of 68.95 tons, including the M1 Abrams main battle tank.
Description: Siouxsie &Amp; The Banshees 1982 Siouxsie & The Banshees were a British rock band formed in London in 1976. They have been widely influential, both over their contemporaries and with later acts. The Times called the group "one of the most audacious and uncompromising musical adventurers of the post-punk era." During their career, Siouxsie & The Banshees released 11 studio albums and 30 singles. The band experienced several line-up changes, with Siouxsie and Severin being the only constant members. They disbanded in 1996, with Siouxsie and Budgie continuing to record music as the Creatures, a second band they had formed in the early 1980s. In 2004, Siouxsie began a solo career.
Description: Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is a short story in Rudyard Kipling's 1894 collection about the adventures of a valiant young Indian grey mongoose in India. Based on the classic mongoose and snake fable, the story has been anthologized and published multiple times, and been made into animated features. This design is based on the 1975 cartoon version that American audiences are most familiar with. The story focuses on an English family living in India who discovers a mongoose residing on the estate. They decide to keep him as a pet, in the hopes that he will keep them safe from the many cobras that live in the surrounding jungle. Their new pet quickly begins earning his keep, as two cobras make the family their new target.
Description: When you begrudgingly take a lunch meeting with a demon, you may as well make it somewhere with good food. That was the case in Episode season 6, episode 8 of Supernatural, ‘All Dogs Go to Heaven,’ which aired November 12, 2010. The boys met Crowley at Fat Mack’s Rib Shack in Raleigh, North Carolina to discuss a job, which was the first appearance of this fictional barbecue joint. Fat Mack’s would show up again in single episodes of both season 7 and season 8.
Description: If you lived in St. Louis during the '70s, you probably remember Marty Mayrose 'The Meat Man' or at least remember his "I'm a meat man, and a meat man knows, the finest meats, ma'am, are Mayrose" jingle. Marty was created in the late '60s by a local adman to help promote the Mayrose meat products. Initially appearing in print ads, and then in animated TV spots before becoming a fixture on product packaging, Marty was somewhat of a local celebrity. Decades later, STL locals can still find Marty hanging out everywhere from old markets to dive bars as countless promotional items from statuettes and thermometers to ashtrays and open/closed signs were produced over the years.

However, many of these vigilantes end up dead, and those who don't are no closer to finding the assailant. When a young paraplegic named Marty encounters a werewolf one night, the pieces begin to come together. Along with his sister and Uncle Red, Marty begins a mission to capture the werewolf once and for all. This is the synopsis of the 1985 film Silver Bullet, which is a rather charming entry into the werewolf genre that seamlessly combines the gory horror of R rated flicks with the fable-esque, childlike sensibility.
Description: Return of Martha Splatterhead is the fifth release and first LP released in 1986 by Seattle thrash band, The Accüsed. Named as a sequential follow-up to the Martha Splatterhead EP released a year earlier, the album was well received by thrash fans, with many considering it a masterpiece of hardcore thrash.
Description: According to various legends, the Loveland Frogman was first sighted by a traveling salesman driving along an unnamed Loveland, Ohio road late at night in 1955. In one story, the driver was heading out of the Branch Hill neighborhood when he spotted three figures stood erect on their hind legs along the side of the road, each 3 to 4 feet in height, with leathery skin and frog faces. In other versions of the story, the creatures were spotted under or over a poorly lit bridge, and one held a wand over its head that fired a spray of sparks. In 1972, the Loveland Frogman legend gained renewed attention when a Loveland police officer reported to a colleague that he had seen an animal consistent with descriptions of the frogman.

Description: Scream Bloody Gore is the first studio album by American death metal band Death, released on May 25, 1987. It is considered by many to be the first true death metal record. The album was actually recorded twice as the label wasn't happy with the first recording done in Florida, so a second Los Angeles-based session was held which was ultimately released as the complete album.
Description: Popular with both locals and tourists alike, Dreadful's Tavern was a pirate themed bar located in Pascagoula, Mississippi. While not exactly a dive bar by definition, it was just divey enough that dive bar aficionados would feel a certain kinship with the place, though better pirate themed bars tend to accomplish this feat routinely.
Description: East Bay Grease is the debut album by Oakland, California soul and funk group Tower of Power, released in 1970. The record shows the band at an early stage of development, and contains a more ragged, horn-heavy R&B style than subsequent releases. The band tightened up and polished their technique heading into their second record, Bump City, but the notable improvements were in place in time for 1973's self-titled Tower of Power, the group's most successful album.

Known as the Silver City, Broken Hill is situated on one of the world’s richest deposits of silver, lead, and zinc ores. Description: James Lee Lindsey Jr. (May 1, 1980 – January 13, 2010), known professionally as Jay Reatard, was an American musician from Memphis, Tennessee. Lindsey was a self-taught musician who was writing songs before he even knew how to tune a guitar. As a kid, he'd simply tune the instrument to what sounded right to him and then develop his own chords, later learning and adopting the standard guitar tuning so that he could play with other musicians. Reatard was a prolific songwriter, releasing more than 100 records, 22 of which were full-length albums. In 2009, he relaunched his indie label, Shattered Records, releasing a compilation album titled Greatest Messes, and embarking on an American tour. Description: Galaxian is a fixed shooter video game that began showing up in arcades in 1979. The player assumes control of the star fighter Galaxip in its mission to protect Earth from waves of Galaxian aliens. Gameplay involves destroying each formation of aliens, who dive down towards the player in an attempt to hit them. The aliens appear in formation towards the top of the screen, with two escort ships, labeled the "Galaxian Flagship" or "Galboss." Enemies divebomb towards the bottom of the screen while shooting projectiles in an attempt to hit the player. The Galaxip can only fire one shot at a time, and the player must wait for it to either hit an enemy or clear the screen before being able to fire another, due to limitations of the hardware.
Description: Once Bitten is the third studio album by American rock band Great White. It was released on June 17, 1987 and became a commercial success, selling more than one million copies and being certified platinum in April 1988. The anthem "Rock Me" became a hit single, charting in September 1987, and is one of Great White's best known songs. The album is said to have brought Great White a broader audience as they hit their stride with a mix of blues-infused rock and arena rock anthems.
