Long ago in Evansville, IN, in the summer of 2022, a camper mysteriously appeared on a sandbar in the middle of the Ohio River. This camper was not only a miracle of physics, it also proclaimed itself in giant black spraypaint letters to be the "POON SALOON." It may have sunk into the river in August, but the legend of the Poon Saloon will live on in our midwestern hearts.
I hope Vincent van Gogh will forgive me, but I have been wanting to combine Tartarus from Persona 3 with Starry Night FOREVER. And now that they've come out with Reload and it's so pretty, it gave me the push I needed.

Death's head moths, hawk moths, or sphinx moths, whatever you call them, they are dancing against an orange blood harvest moon. A lovely spooky and symmetrical vision.
"Leave no black plume as a token of that lie thy soul hath spoken!
Leave my loneliness unbroken!—quit the bust above my door!
Take thy beak from out my heart, and take thy form from off my door!”

"And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon’s that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o’er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted—nevermore!" - Edgar Allan Poe, The Raven

I'm not just any horse girl...I'm a Kelpie Girl! Kelpies are a legendary river monster "horse" which initially seems to be a beautiful, docile horse, but once you mount it the monster drags you into the water, drowns you, and then eats you up! Brrrrrr.
As an 80s kid these VHS and audio cassette tapes were a huge part of my life. I made tons of mixtapes and taped shows over each other until they finally wore out. I still have a ton of both my audio and videotapes and use them!

Le Temps Détruit Tout means "Time Destroys All Things." But remember, this also means time destroys sorrow, pain, and shame. And from destruction, comes rebirth. That is the meaning of my butterfly perched on the skull here. Memento mori.

A mermaid Lady of the Lake I made for #DrawMerMay2023!! This is one of my very favorites so far. In Arthurian legend, she is the fae lady who fostered Landelo du Lac and gave the enchanted sword Excalibur to the once and future King Arthur.

The most happy cheerful assortment of friendly and toothy sharks you could ever hope to see, interspersed with pretty red orange clownfish. For kids or the kid in you!
