Description: Alexander Otto Fasser, a German-American immigrant and Yale-educated surgeon, forged papers in 1915 so that he could serve against his birth country in the Great War. In his work at the American Ambulance Hospital in Neuilly, he took 3D portraits of many wounded soldiers; this is from a scan of the only diapositive of one of his best captures.
