A design for all chronic illness warriors who like me, suffer from CFS/ME. Illustrated by me (@yourachingart_cfs). Sometimes chronic illness means not feeling your best. In fact, sometimes it means you feel like death warmed over. How very goth.

1 in 6 people worldwide are disabled. It’s a minority that anyone can join at any time, regardless of ethnicity, skin color, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or age.

Sometimes when you have an invisible chronic illness, you have that incredible urge to say your feelings out loud! With these straight to the point phases, you can look awesome whilst also stating your inner thoughts and feelings for the whole world to see. Why hide behind a fake smile, suffer in silence and tediously explain why you 'don't look sick' but feel sick? It's not fair, So let's state the obvious!

Just because someone with an invisible disability does not appear to be disabled or ill does not mean they are not. Treating someone with an invisible disability like they can just get over it or that they don't look sick really hurts.

What Life With A Chronic Illness Is Like: Ran Out Of Spoons is about Spoon Theory, a metaphor for how much energy (spoons) a person has available each day, and how spoonies have a limited number, forcing them to carefully plan each day to not run out of spoons.

This design features what life with a chronic illness is like in stick figure form. Flare days are common for people with chronic illnesses, where symptoms of their condition are at their worst.

People mostly mean well, but the “chronic” part of chronic illness means we can’t and won’t get well soon.
